Shots are the fast lane of cocktail culture. 1.5 oz, maximum impact, minimum time. From the bartender’s-favourite Lemon Drop to the frat-classic Jagerbomb to the perfectly-layered B-52, this collection is every shot worth knowing.

Shot Technique

Layered shots: pour over the back of a spoon. Order by density: heaviest sugar-content liquid at the bottom (Kahlua, grenadine), lightest at the top (overproof rum, absinthe).

Jello shots: 1 cup boiling water + 1 box jello + 1 cup vodka. Set in fridge 4+ hours. Use paper cups or silicone molds.

Chasers: matched to the shot. Salt + lime for tequila. Pickle juice for whiskey (a pickleback). Beer for Jagerbombs.

Number rule: three is fun. Four is risky. Five is a regret.
