Where it came from
Sex on the Beach kicked off the family in the 1980s. Sex in the Shower is one of dozens of named variants that swap a juice or a liqueur for a different visual. This version uses blue curacao for the colour and butterscotch for the sweetness.
It travels under multiple names. Blue Beach, Hawaiian Sunset, dozens more. The recipe is the same. Orange juice plus a tropical liqueur plus a coloured one for the camera.
What it tastes like
Orange juice up front, candy butterscotch in the middle, citrus orange peel from the curacao at the back. Sweet, fizzy and shaped like a tropical holiday drink.
Plenty of ice is the secret. The drink is sweet so it needs the dilution to keep moving.
