Mexico's actual national drink, minus the tequila. Bitter grapefruit, lime, salt rim, and enough bubbles to wake you up.

Ingredients

  • 90 ml Grapefruit Juice pink or ruby
  • 15 ml Fresh Lime Juice
  • 5 ml Agave Syrup
  • Salt
  • Grapefruit Soda
  • Salt
  • Grapefruit

Instructions

  • Run a lime wedge around the rim of a highball glass, then dip into sea salt.
  • Fill with ice.
  • Pour in the grapefruit juice, lime juice, and agave. Stir.
  • Add a pinch of salt and stir once more.
  • Top with grapefruit soda or plain soda water.
  • Garnish with a grapefruit wedge.

Notes

The salt does the same job here that it does in a proper Margarita. Do not skip it, even if you are suspicious.

  • Rim sea salt
  • Garnish grapefruit wedge
