Vieux Carre
The Vieux Carré is an American cocktail invented in New Orleans’ French Quarter. Similar to the Manhattan, it’s made with brandy, whiskey, sweet vermouth, Benedictine, Angostura, and Peychaud’s bitters.

Ingredients – What’s in it?
- 1 ¼ oz Rye Whiskey
- 1 ¼ oz Cognac
- 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
- 1 Bar spoon Benedictine Herbal Liqueur
- 1 dash Bitters
- 1 dash Peychaud's Bitters
Instructions – How to make it:
- Combine all ingredients in mixing glass with ice.
- Stir.
- Strain into chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnish with lemon twist and enjoy.
