Ingredients

  • 2.3 Liter(s) Honey
  • 9 Liter(s) Water
  • 4 Lemon
  • 30 g Cloves
  • 900 g Sugar
  • 1 Ginger
  • 60 g Yeast
  • 1 Bread

Instructions

Prepare Yeast:

  • Spread the 60 g of yeast on a slice of bread.

Boil Ingredients:

  • In a large pot, boil 9 liters of water, 2.3 liters of honey, and 900 g of sugar together.

Skim Off Scum:

  • Pour the mixture into an earthenware pot and skim off any scum that forms.

Add Flavorings:

  • Add the juice of 4 lemons, 30 g of cloves, and a piece of ginger to the pot.

Cool the Mixture:

  • Leave the mixture to cool until it is just warm.

Add Yeast and Bread:

  • Float the slice of bread with the yeast on top of the mixture.

Cover:

  • Cover the pot with a clean cloth and leave it to ferment.

Serve:

  • After the fermentation process is complete, strain the Medd and serve.
